The fee you leave behind
Snipcart takes 2% of every sale on top of what your provider already charges, and quiet months are billed a $20 minimum instead. Either way, the fee grows as fast as you do.
Snipcart takes 2% of every sale on top of what your payment provider already charges, and bills a $20 minimum in the months you sell under a thousand dollars. We are a buy button rather than a cart, and we take nothing from a sale at all. Whether that trade helps you comes down to one question: do your buyers actually fill a basket?
Snipcart is a real shopping cart for static sites. It handles line items, quantities, size and color options, shipping, and tax, and it finishes with a polished checkout. If your buyers regularly carry three things to the counter at once, that is the job it does and the job we did not build. Everything below is what that cart costs you.
The 2% sits on top of your provider's fee, so two companies get paid before you do. That number grows exactly as fast as your sales do and it never falls, no matter how big you get. Plenty of sellers also find they never needed a catalog at all, because they sell one course, one ebook, or run a tip jar. Paying a percentage forever for a basket nobody fills is the part that stings later.
Your payment processor stays the same, and so does where your money goes. Both tools sit in front of your own account, so that relationship is yours before and after the move. Your site also stays static, because neither tool asks you to run a server.
Three numbers tell the whole story.

Our Pro plan includes 500 transactions, then costs a few cents per extra one. The bill stays the same no matter how good your month was.
We take nothing when you start, and nothing when you grow. The flat fee is the only fee.
Your sales history stays in the old dashboard, and our log starts with your first sale through us. Export anything you need before you close the old account.
If your buyers genuinely fill baskets, or you need shipping and tax worked out at checkout, a cart is the right shape and we are not one. The closest we come is selling a bundle as a single product. Just be certain you are buying a cart, because 2% forever is a steep price for a basket that only ever holds one thing.
The free plan is a full sandbox. You get every feature and 50 transactions a month, and we never ask for a card.
